Rev. Dr. Dennis Kenny is a trained psychologist, theologian, and spiritual caregiver who has been a translator of ideas throughout his career.
As a founding Director of the Institute for Health and Healing and the Director of Integrative Education and Spirituality at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco as well as the Director of Spiritual Care and the Co-director of Healing Services at the Cleveland Clinic he has taught Spiritual Assessment and Response to ministers, spiritual caregivers, congregational lay people, nurses, bodyworkers, psychotherapists, administrators, M.D’s., artists and social workers.
He was the Director of Spiritual Care and Co-Director of Healing Services at the Cleveland Clinic, which brought Code Lavender to the mainland of the States.
His initial article on personal covenants has become a staple of spirituality curricula in training programs in many parts of the world.
He is the author of Promise of the Soul, Identifying and Healing Your Spiritual Agreements, Book of Weeks, A Road Map for Transformational Education and the recently published Breaking the Spiritual Care Code, Toward a Standard of Practice.
He has received the Distinguished Service Award, the ACPE’s highest award for contributions to the field of Clinical Pastoral Education and Spiritual Care.
